RECOMMENDATIONS • In Denmark, the Agency for Governmental IT Services initially worked to harmonize and standardize the different ICT platforms used at different levels of government into one common operational platform, with a view to achieving higher quality at lower cost. The agency focuses on ensuring accessibility, stability, efficiency and information security with an emphasis on providing a) a central public ICT workplace as a common government base for the use of ICT, b) operation of ICT infrastructure for various e-government tasks, c) standardization of general administrative systems through the creation of common platforms, and d) the efficient award of operating contracts through standardized framework procedures • An interesting e-Government discussion platform for researchers, practitioners and citizens has developed in Sweden www.egov.nu. The initiative includes experts from political science, sociology, economics and ICT, as well as legislators for the public and private spheres, and last but not least, citizens and businesses. From this point of view, it is possible to use the TA CR research team for the application of a similar platform in the Czech environment. • The Finnish Public Sector Digital Security Management Board VAHTI specializes in the following areas related to data security: risk management and control, business continuity management, security in development, security maintenance, monitoring and evaluation of information. VAHTI issues information security guidelines, guidelines for individual information policies that are necessary for public authorities. • Very direct centralized models are used in the United Kingdom (Cabinet Office with the help of the coordinator – Government Digital Service), the Netherlands (Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations) and Austria (Ministry for Digitalization and Economic Affairs with the help of the coordinator – Digital Austria). • In Austria, the Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs is responsible for e-Government. Its efforts are supported in particular by the “Digital Austria” Platform, whose main task is strategic decision-making, setting priorities for the implementation of common e-Government projects, their coordination and monitoring, including complete communication of these activities. • As a part of strategic and effective management, a centralized solution seems to be a more suitable option from the above-mentioned applications. Thanks to the centralized approach, duplication of positions can be eliminated.
