Company History 1946

Brothers-in-law, Henry Kaye and Jack Gold come to the USA.

1949

They start The Madelaine Chocolate Company.

1952

Spurred on by their extensive knowledge of the industry they decide to create and supply their own shapes using superior -tasting Peter’s Chocolate.

1954

Inspired to make Holiday shaped chocolates, Henry and Jack begin producing mini chocolate eggs in brightly-colored foils.

1967

The company moves from Brooklyn to its current location in Rockaway Beach, NY.

1967-2011

Over the next several decades the company expands its product line and capabilities.

2012

The company is devastated by Hurricane Sandy and has to shut its doors for 9 months.

2013

In July, The company restarts production.

2018

As the company approaches its 70th year, it is manufacturing chocolates with state of the art molding and foiling equipment. They have restored and expanded their product line to exceed pre-Sandy levels.
