Clubhouse (cont’d )
•
Char broiler burner replacement.
• Corner trim replacements in the kid’s playroom. • New lighting at the west entrance of the clubhouse. • Phone jack repair at the bar. • I’m sure there’s more that others have done that I’m not recalling at the moment, but I’m grateful for everyone’s effort and support.
We have more to get done in the way of repairs and updates as well: • Additional trim replacement in bar and dining areas. • Crawl space ventilation updates. • Lighting solution for steps in 2 nd floor hallway. • Downspout updates for Clubhouse gutters.
If anyone is aware of any additional maintenance required for the Clubhouse, please contact me directly. I have also made signage to be posted in the bar area, with regard to our proper enforcement of alcoholic beverage purchases in accordance with the C lub’s liquor license. These will be posted for the first Spring Work Party. We have scheduled the pre-opening services with our suppliers: • Pest Control – May 17 th (thank you Terry for assisting in getting them on and off the island) • Floor Cleaning: o Carpet/Tile/Grout Thursday May 18 th o Linoleum cleaning May 22 nd and 23 rd Also, we are coordinating refrigeration repair to be done before opening weekend. • Freezer Unit in Kitchen is inoperable. • Prep Table refrigerator in Kitchen is unreliable, at best. We also need additional discussion and research on replacing or adding ice makers to the Clubhouse. As most are aware, our two-head ice maker has only one functional head. In this configuration we are at risk of not being able to generate ice to meet the demands of the membership as well as not being able to make any ice should the second head fail. Our supplier has stated, several times, that repair of the failed unit is unlikely to be successful or will be successful for a limited time without warranty against future failure. As a result, we are investigating options to introduce either a new head to the existing ice maker bin or acquiring a second icemaker, and bin, to be added to the Clubhouse. It is unlikely that a solution will be in place for opening weekend but I’m optimistic that a solution will be in place before peek summer heat puts addit ional demands on our icemaking capacity. Finally, I’d like to thank the Flag, Board, First Mates and General Membership that have been participating in our Elite Brigade weekends. We have accomplished quite a bit with regards to cleaning and prepping th e Clubhouse for the season and we wouldn’t be as far along as we are without everyone’s assistance. I really am grateful for the membership and their commitment and participation in ensuring we’re ready to go for the 2023 season.
