Vice Commodores Comments…

With the way the weather has been the last week, it’s hard to believe it’s April. Hopefully we will see some sun and warm temps in the near future. At least the water levels are up, already within a few inches of last year’s highs. The mild winter allowed early access to the island this spring and with the work still required on the bar renovation we have been at the island the last three weekends, opening the clubhouse and starting to put the floor back into place. Besides the tremendous amount of work required to finish the bar project we still have the annual tasks of preparing the Fins, harbors, clubhouse and grounds. The number of work hours needed for these tasks is huge. Please come out and lend a hand in helping to get the island back into shape at one of the Elite Brigade and/or regular work parties. Member participation allows us to keep our costs and dues at a minimum and you don’t need any special skills to help. Remember to attend the First mates fashion Show on April 30 th . This event kicks off the First Mates fund raising events and all of the money raised goes to club projects. The club officially opens in seven weeks, please don’t wait to make the opening weekend your first visit to the club. Come out and lend a hand, you won’t regret it. VC Pat
