The weather seems to be finally breaking and the snow and ice are melting away. March is bringing us longer days, more sun, and the realization our boating season is right around the corner. Last weekend was The Blessing of the Fleet held annually at The Mariners Church in Detroit. Attendance at this event has opened up the opportunity for any NCYC member to attend. It is a special/moving service that includes the blessing of our very own NCYC flag. I would recommend that everyone experience this service at least once. Hope you can join your Flag and Directors next year. April 27th is the First Mates Fashion Show being held at Mirage Banquet Center in Clinton Township. Please support this event. Our First Mates put on an excellent event and the funds they raise are returned to our Club providing financing for many projects in the clubhouse and around the island. There are still opportunities to step up and assist your Club in being a weekday manager or weekday team member. You will have fun and learn a lot about your NCYC. Contact Colleen and Ron Braun to assist. Lastly, start planning on attending the spring work parties being held on May 10th and May 17th. It’ll be here before you know it! R/C Mark
