Nancy and I would like to wish all of you a very Happy New Year. We are extremely excited about this year at NCYC and hope you are as well. The bar refinishing project is on schedule and will be ready to install once we can access the island. The new walkway and door for egress into the cooler and a few other projects will also start in the spring. We will be posting Fanouts this spring when the Elite brigade work parties start. Please plan on making one or more of these Saturdays. Your help is always greatly appreciated. We have a lot of great events planned this year starting with the Commodore’s Ball, January 21st at the Concorde Inn. I would like to thank my wife Nancy for all the time and hard work she has put into the planning and execution of this special event. If you have not returned your response, please do, there is plenty of room and this is one party you do not want to miss. Please take a look at the events calendar and plan on attending as many events as you can, you won’t regret it. I am looking forward to our first board meeting of the new year and welcome Glenn Nixon, Dale Hall and Ron Draper as new Directors and Ian Blackburn as our new Rear Commodore. I also would like to welcome back the remaining Directors and Flag. I am honored and eager to start working with this fine group towards improving our club, making it better for all of you. If you are interested in taking a week as manager, we still have five weeks open. Team up with another couple and volunteer for a week. After all, member participation is what makes our club what it is. As your Commodore, I want to thank you for your support and confidence. With your help, we will make 2017 a great year at NCYC. Linda and I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year celebrating with family and friends. As we face the winter weather in January, we can think that we only have about 17 weeks before we get the boats wet again. Speaking of getting the boats wet again, Transportation Director Darryl Campbell, is hard at work refurbishing the engine on Fin Runner # 1 making sure we will have our work boat ready for opening the Club in April. As your Vice Commodore, I look forward to working with our incoming Commodore Pat and Rear Commodore Ian as well as our new Board members, as we steer the ship toward another successful year at NCYC. Regards, V/C Randy Pagel

Get the retirement youwant.

It’s never too soon to start planning.

Many of us have a clear vision of our retirement years. Yet, a surprising number of people have no idea how they’ll turn those dreams into reality. The fact is today’s retirement takes more than savings and Social Security. It requires a financial plan that addresses your needs, wants and how you’ll pay for them. That’s where I can help. Together, we’ll create a plan to help your money work long enough and hard enough to fund the retirement you envision. LIFEWELLPLANNED. Contact me to get started.

Marie and I would like to take this opportunity in wishing everyone a Happy New Year. We hope that you had the chance to spend time with family and friends during the holiday season. With each New Year we get a fresh, clean page to start over. Here’s hoping that life writes a beautiful new chapter for you and your family this year. We have an exciting NCYC year ahead of us. Kicking it off in style on January 21st is the Ball to honor Commodore Pat Carroll and his lady Nancy. I know they have planned an elegant evening at the Concord Inn and we are looking forward to P/C Stroh’s choice for the Spirit award and Member of the year. I know it will not be an easy decision with all the remarkable efforts put forth during the 2016 season by outstanding members. I would like to welcome P/C Tom McHugh, Dale Hall, Ron Draper, Glen Nixon and Don Ruma to the 2017 Board of Directors. I am looking forward to working together. As the New Year has arrived, I cannot help but go back in time and think of all the fun times we had in 2016. All would not have been possible without the incredible dedication of wonderful families. I would like to thank P/C Chuck and his lady Sandi for a great year. I would also like to recognize P/C Brian McEvoy, Frank Corcoran, Brent Malik and John Sweier, for their gifts of time and talent they gave NCYC, it was a pleasure serving with you. As I reflect on 2016, I can’t help but think of the wonderful members we lost. They were amazing and will not be forgotten. Rest in Peace my friends, you will be greatly missed.

Commodore’s Comments: Commodore, Chuck Stroh Welcome to the November meeting. The year is winding down but we still have some business to take care of, let’s get started.

Vice Commodore’s Comments: Vice Commodore, Pat Carroll The clubhouse is closed down, the Fins are out of the water and covered for the winter. The season is quickly winding down and we can now start planning for next year. If you have not chosen your weekend to be the OD, please see Glenn Nixon. If you are thinking about taking a week to be a weekday manager, please contact Dick Raymond. Next year is fast approaching and the sooner we get these items behind us the sooner we can concentrate on the real issues at the club. Rear Commodore’s Comments: Rear Commodore, Randy Pagel Here we are in November and the 2016 boating season is coming to an end. We had a great year as a club and we are looking forward to next boating season in 2017. We have an opportunity coming up to support our own P/C Rick Romatz at the ABYA Ball coming in December. I hope all of you can attend and give him our support as Commodore of ABYA for 2016. I look forward to working with all of you in 2017, and want to personally thank the outgoing directors for all their hard work and enthusiasm, making NCYC the great yacht club that it is.
