Clubhouse
The Clubhouse remains in good working order. However, we have some issues that will need addressing before the year is out. We have an issue with the subfloor and tile in the back kitchen. The subfloor appears to be water damaged and will require replacing with new tile installed over it. The extent of the damage and repair is not yet known. I’m cautiously optimistic that we can “get by” until later in the season before we need to pull up the floor. Based on feedback from the board and membership, we’ll be looking to replace the broken freezer behind the bar with another refrigerator. The consensus is the bar can benefit from additional refrigerator storage behind the bar. I am hoping to have that refrigerator replaced in August. Other outstanding items to be completed before year end is to ensure the new walk-in cooler is on generator power, and that we have replaced the in-ground drainage for the back of clubhouse downspouts to the east harbor drain. Outside of these issues, the Clubhouse remains in good shape. As always, I appreciate the support of the membership in identifying issues and in many cases addressing them directly. Fortunately, mother nature has spared us from any more surprises. Last month I missed an acknowledgement. We removed that large, compromised branch on the maple tree near Robison. Thank you Jack Lucido & Ed Mizgalski for assisting with removal on short notice. We finished the priority painting projects to help freshen up the appearance of several areas and are in planning stages for maintenance to the parking lot on the mainland. Tentatively scheduled for week of Sept 4 th to have mainland parking lot scrapped and additional limestone added. New signage for both mainland and harbor has been procured and will be installed soon. Have more small projects in process. Getting pricing for signage for labeling well numbers, looking at replacement light posts along river and the few lamp posts that were accidently damaged. I appreciate those that have taken time to share thoughts on other opportunities for improvement that need attention or consideration. The most impressive thing about this is that many have not only shared their opportunity but have engaged in implementing and/or procuring their suggestions. Nothing better than helping where and when possible. Says a lot about our members. Have reviewed the survey responses and have them factored them in for future opportunities. All positive and helpful feedback. John O’Leary requested approval for parking lot regrade and addition of limestone (option B per St. Clair Grading, vendor proposal). Motion: John O’Leary to request approval. Second: Philip Maniaci. Motion Carried Harbor & Grounds John O’Leary Good day fellow NCYC members,
