25/5/2020 "We are still unable to move at the moment. When Australia started to shutdown due to Coronavirus, we, like the estimated 75,000 other permanent grey nomads did not know what we were going to do. We could not go home as it is rented. Showgrounds and Recreation reserves were closing to caravans, and so were caravan parks. We were at Albury showground as borders started closing. We did not want to stay in as big a town as Albury but wanted to stay close to the border. So on the 24th March we moved to Bethanga Recreation Reserve in Vic. They have four caravan sites with power and water. There is one other couple here from SA. As we have no home to go to the Recreation Reserve has to let us stay. Bethanga has a population of around 450. It has a pub (Closed due to virus) and a general shop (Closed due to virus) we are only 20 minutes from Albury to do our shopping. A couple of the town people were not happy that we were here but the president of the Recreation Reserve was very supportive and explained to these people that we had nowhere else to go therefore we could stay. It looks like NSW will allow caravaners to start moving from the 1st June, and VIC may also. While some people have had it a bit harder than us we will be happy to be back on the road. Not sure where will be going at the moment but it will be to somewhere warmer!" Brett.
