Steve, what’s your most favourite centre out of the many millions you have managed? I have been fortunate to love every centre I have worked at, but I would have to say Rozelle in 2002 was my absolute favourite. It was my first new centre and I was able to contribute so much in the overall setup. I met a lot of really nice customers and business owners in the area too. ‘ Janso is a legend! Where ever we put Steve, we know the centre will perform. He operates with precision and is very clear about what he is striving for. Phil, what’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen stored? ‘ ‘ Phil is a real hero for KSS. I like Phil’s courage and eagerness to take up a challenge. I also appreciate his candour, honesty and humility. Sam Kennard ‘ A Customer wanted to go from a 1/4 garage to a full garage. I tried to find a unit near his current one and he said “why, I don’t store anything !” How does the Daily Lock Check at Waterloo compare to the City2Surf? We have 4 buildings with a total of 13 floors and 2,500 units. City2Surf record is 41 minutes for the 14 km. Our Lock Checks take just under 4 hrs and is 7 km. Favourite thing to do when at work?

Blowing away the leaves in the carpark and cleaning. Seriously, it’s my thing. And I’m always taking lots of photos of the centre.

Funniest question a storer has ever asked you?

Your words of wisdom after 20 years?

So many… At Gladesville, a lady rushes in the door “Can you help me? I don’t need to buy any paint or anything, I just need directions to the RSL Club please.” Paint?
