One of them - no doubt the best known - is Lean Management . This notion may have evolved over the decades in order to adapt to the sector concerned. The terms of Agility and Operational Excellence are sometimes used. But their origin lies in Lean Management. It is a question of eliminating processes and charges that are too costly in terms of resources or time. This notion of “Lean” highlights the importance of flexible management, as precisely as possible, without waste.
Toyota formalised the basic principles of this system in the fifties in Japan, which was then enjoying a great industrial boom. The Toyota Production System or TPS relied on methods and practices making it possible to rethink management and strategy, without renouncing quality and reliability. It was a question of understanding the existing processes, testing and proving them in such a way as to put the necessary changes in place to boost productivity.
