Description Scheduled replacement of employee workstations. Each year a planned segment of employees receives a replacement computer if their device reaches its 4-5 year life expectancy depending on the device and its overall use. Justification Employee workstations, laptops, and tablets are on a 4-5 year replacement cycle. Devices are purchased with a 4 year warranty to reduce additional costs during the life of the device. Hardware failures and reduced performance of these devices is alleviated with purchasing new technology at the 4-5 year mark. A portion of older computers past the 4-5 year mark are used for summer interns, contractors, or areas that infrequent computer use is required to help reduce overall costs.
