INTERNAL COMMUNICATION The City of Shakopee has an engaged a number employees committed to providing high-quality service to residents, businesses and visitors. Strong internal communications systems are essential to helping employees provide the highest level of service. Internal communication comes in two forms: informal and formal. Informal communication are those networks that ensure necessary information is flowing horizontally and vertical through departments. Formal communication uses more dedicated hubs of communication sharing, such as intranet and employee newsletters, in which organizational information is made available to all staff.

Opportunities to improve internal communication include:
