The Shakopee Boys Basketball Association (SBBA) provides opportunities for youth in grades 1-8 to participate in in-house and travel basketball programs. Each of the following programs places emphasis on skill development. Players must live or be open enrolled in the Shakopee School District 720 to register. YOUTH SPORTS ASSOCIATIONS
WINTER TRAVEL 2020-21 GRADES 4-8 The Shakopee Boys Basketball Association provides opportunities for youth in grade four to eight to participate in travel basketball. We do allow third-grade players to try-out for fourth grade travel. Players must live or be open enrolled in the Shakopee School District to register. Traveling basketball is a competitive basketball program. Four travel teams per grade level will be formed, if enough players register. Game participation will be at the discretion of the coaching staff. Teams will participate in approximately two to three weekend tournaments per month from November through mid-March, including the state tournament. Practices will be held twice a week at various Shakopee school locations. Parents are responsible for all transportation. Travel Team Evaluations Participants should attend both evaluations sessions. Team selection is based on skill level. If your player does not make a team, a refund will be returned to you. Players are
GRADES 2-8 RECREATIONAL BASKETBALL Players must live or be open enrolled in the Shakopee School District 720 to register. Saber League Teams will be formed in each of the leagues. Practice is during the week with games on Saturday mornings. Players will attend twice a week. All Saber League players are provided a game jersey, which will be the property of the player. Schedules with times and location will be posted on the website after the teams are formed. All games and practices played at Shakopee schools for grades two through five. Grades six through eight play in the Southwest Metro Traveling League with games played in and around the southwest metro area. Volunteer Coaches are needed for all in-house programs. Questions?
