BARN QUILT TOUR OF CARVER COUNTY Covering 25-plus miles of beautiful countryside, we will visit nine farm sites, while viewing a total of 17 barn quilts. Two of the farm owners are barn quilt enthusiasts and proudly display five quilts alone on their farm sites. Traveling in the comfort of a coach bus with a guided-tour host, guests will learn local history and vignettes about the farms, barn owners and their barn quilt patterns. Between tour stops, have lunch at Lola’s Lakehouse. Meal choice at registration. The final stop will be At the Farm, a popular Farmer’s Market and Antique store. TAYLORS FALLS BOAT CRUISE Arrive at the Scenic Boat Tours on the St. Croix to board the boat. The luncheon cruise aboard the Taylor Falls boat yours will be buffet style. The view inspires awe, not just for its beauty, but also for the provision of this river that sculpted through ancient volcanic rock. After our scenic trip, we will stop at Eichten’s Cheese Shop & Deli in City Center for treats (on own). After lunch, we will be entertained by the blockbuster hit musical "Glensheen" at the History Theatre. It portrays an heiress, kind and generous, found dead in her bed. Her night nurse, lying lifeless on the staircase. A robbery? A clumsy break- in? A conspiracy? A scandal! The Congdon family tragedy splashed across the headlines of every newspaper in Minnesota. You can purchase greeting cards for $ 0.50 at the Community Center. Greeting cards are re-created by our Sr. Club members. Do not throw your used greeting cards. Donate them! Drop them off at the Parks and Recreation office in the Community Center.
