Selim Ileri (born in Istanbul, 1949) studied in the faculty of law at Istanbul University. He is considered one of the most important and prolific contemporary Turkish authors, with a career spanning more than a hundred published works: essays, literary criticism, plays, scripts for motion pictures and television, poetry, short stories, memoirs and novels. He is the recipient of many awards and recognition. He has scarcely been translated into English.

KARIN KARAKAŞLI Let Me Out Here, Please (novel excerpt)

KarinKarakaşlı (born in Istanbul, 1972) is awriter, journalist and teacher. With a focus on Translation and Interpreting Studies, and a later degree in Comparative Literature, from 1996 to 2006 she worked at the Turkish-Armenian weekly newspaper as editor, head of the editorial department and columnist. She has more than fourteen book publications to her name, including story collections, novels, poetry, essays, and works for children and young adults.
