Retardation Systems

A25D and A30D are equipped with two retardation systems, the exhaust retarder and a hydraulic retarder built into the transmission. These systems provide fast and safe downhill hauls with- out using the service brakes, which gives higher produc- tivity, reduced brake wear and lower operating costs. If the cycle is planned, the retardation systems can provide all the needed speed control during the whole work cycle, operating downhill, slowing down before curves, etc.
