3050 廈門雙重不尋常實寄封 Amoy - the Double Extraordinary Cover ​

On 17th October 1949, immediately after the fall of Amoy, the Military Control Commission announced the closure of post offices from 17th to 21st October 17. This 20th October cover reveals that despite the official closure, postal services continued during the five days period. It is also the only evidence which can prove the postal operation still continued during the five days.​ 當廈門十月17日後軍管會宣布郵局停業五天 (十月17日至21日),這10月20日實寄封,是唯一可以佐證,這停業五天並未執 行。​ Mailed on 20th October 1949 from Amoy (49.10.17), 5th November arrived in Singapore (49.05.27); affixed with two Hwa Nan SYS 10 fen and one 4 fen together with one Kwangtung Silver Yuan 1 fen (a rare example of Kwangtung Silver Yuan used in Fukien). The total value of 25 fen equivalent to registered expressed postage. (Expert Certificate).​ 1949年10月20日由廈門 (49.10.17) 寄, 11月5日抵達上海 (49.05.27); 上貼華南版孫像10分兩枚、4分1枚, 及廣東銀元1分1枚(罕 有的廣東銀元跨區使用), 共25分, 相等於國內快遞掛號郵資。(附有專家証書) ​ ​ The purpose of this postmark is not mentioned in the official record. Based on the examples uncovered, Paul, K.S. Chang 張愷 升 in his authoritative book of Chinese Post Marks the post mark was used by the Nationalist Chinese authority only in Shanghai during October 8, 1948 to April 8, 1949. This cover proves the Chinese Peoples’ Post continued using this postmark.​ 跟據張愷升先生的著作,這上海 庚 郵戳使用目的未明,使用日期為1948年十月8日至1949年四月8曰,此1949年11月5日為 最後使用日期。​ HK$ 28,000 - 30,000
