LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
Happy New Year!
As we wrapped up 2022, we welcomed in Sessions 281, 282, 283, and 284. It is nice to say the FBI Academy is in full swing, and we share the opportunity to meet and greet each session as they enter the halls of the Academy. As you review this publication, please take note of the many programs being directed by a staff ensuring our brand, accounting, financial sustainability, membership, networking, NAA products, and our continuity of operations are at the forefront of their dedication to serve you. Our successes of 2022 cannot go without acknowledging the great work being done by our FBINAA office team under the leadership of our Executive Director, Howard Cook. Personally, it has amazed me the amount of work being done by this small team and the mountains they have moved over the past several years demonstrating their ability to navigate an ever-shifting environment, making progressive and critical decisions with members and strategic partners, and come out on top after COVID. The first half of 2022, through the leadership of Past President Ken Truver, we pledged our focus and support for sound governance, fiscal responsibility, and the Active Bystandership for Law Enforcement (ABLE) program. We increased our presence and footprint as an Association to dedicated training to help strengthen the ABLE philosophy within law enforcement organizations throughout the world. As we wrapped up the last five months of the year, we re-engaged members who have lost touch with our Association and asked the Chapters to “Reach Out and Re Engage” (ROAR) their members back into our Association. We had the opportunity to connect with chapter leaders through our Virtual Engagement Meetings (VEM) hearing about the successes and challenges at the Chapter level.

In addition to ROAR, we recognized the value of committed members serving over 25 years or more within our Association and approved the new “Life Member” status for over 2,000 active members, and many more to come. I also need to recognize the 96 dedicated members who have reached 50 years, or more, of active membership with our Association. Thank you for your continued support. While we continue to build up our financial strength, we could not do so without the support of our Strategic and Academic Alliance Partners. Please be sure to read about them on pages 14 and 15 and support them and their innovative resources they bring to law enforcement leaders to make our life easier and safer with new products and/or services to fit your needs. Our partners continue to be the lifeblood of our Association. I am proud to say your FBINAA National Office and the National Board continue to serve the best interests of the membership, for the good of the Association, in all matters. When I spoke in Cleveland, I maintained that the staff and the Association Leadership (at both the National and Chapter levels) are some of the most selfless individuals I have ever had the pleasure to work with.
Be safe,
Timothy P. Braniff FBINAA President

LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Dear Members and Friends,
The past year has been one of significant progress with an emphasis on membership and active engagement. This annual report draws attention to several of our most notable successes, as well as opportunities for growth in the future. We have concluded 2022 on a positive note and have built up plenty of momentum as we head into 2023. We have stayed true to our commitment of sustainable growth based on our strategic plan and have been able to focus on the long-term rather than on a year-to-year basis. Our success in 2022 is attributed to member support and engagement. Our membership is strong. As President Braniff mentioned in his message, our goal is not only to increase and retain our members through programs such as the “Reach Out and Re-Engage” (ROAR) campaign but to also provide more benefits to our members. The new Life Member status, recommended by the Membership Committee and approved by the National Board, is a perfect example of this commitment. Because of their long-term loyalty to the Association, Life Members will now receive these exclusive member benefits: print edition of the quarterly Associate Magazine, discounted rate on registration for future FBINAA National Annual Training Conferences, a one-time life member card, a lifetime 20% discount to the online Member Store and the brick-and-mortar store in Quantico and at the National Annual Training Conference, and a Life Member commemorative coin and lapel pin. I learned a long time ago that in both the law enforcement and association businesses, to be successful, you can’t “go it alone”. One of our strategic goals is to increase value to our members by partnering with other organizations with similar missions as the FBINAA. During 2022, we have expanded our academic and strategic partnerships. These partnerships are a two-way street.
HOWARD M. COOK Executive Director NA Session 224

Thanks to our members’ support of our partners, they continue to recognize the benefits of being part of and supportive of our association. Thanks to all our academic and strategic partners for their continued friendship and support. Education and training continued to increase in variety and offerings. Our National Annual Training Conference in Cleveland was one of the most successful in our history. 2022 saw the successful launch of the FBINAA Leadership Certification Program with over 1,500 enrolled and over 100 graduates year-to-date. Much more is planned in 2023! As you can see, we accomplished a lot in 2022 and we’re off to a great start in 2023. We want and need your engagement to make our association grow and be of greater value to NA graduates and law enforcement executives throughout the world.
Thank you for your continued support to our great association!
Sincerely,
Howard M. Cook Executive Director

EDUCATION & TRAINING
LEADERSHIP CERTIFICATION PROGRAM In January, we introduced the FBINAA Leadership Certification Program. The program offers a series of courses, open to all law enforcement professionals, that encompass the latest strategies, techniques, and real-world leadership scenarios to prepare each attendee to better lead their respective unit, shift or agency into the unpredictable future of law enforcement. In 2022, over 1,500 have enrolled in the program with over 100 graduates. LEADERSHIP APB PODCAST SERIES In 2022, the FBINAA continued with the production of its podcast series entitled Leadership APB. The monthly Leadership APB podcast series engages law enforcement and public safety executives in discussions on timely and current topics affecting first responders around the world. These leaders share their leadership and managerial philosophies, successes, and obstacles they have encountered in their careers. The podcast series are free audio programs distributed to FBI National Academy Associates’ members, their staffs, and other law enforcement executives that provide our communities, states, countries, and profession with the highest degree of law enforcement professionalism and expertise. The Leadership APB podcast series is broadcasted on the first Wednesday of each month. In 2022, 11 episodes aired with a listenership of over 10,650 members and nonmembers. OFFICER SAFETY & WELLNESS Officer resiliency, safety and wellness continues to be one of the keystone advocacy issues of the FBINAA. In 2022, thanks to the support of the Motorola Solutions Foundation, over 4,000 law enforcement and correctional officers were trained in the Comprehensive Officer Resilience Program® and 60 new trainers were certified through Train-the-Trainer programs held throughout our Chapter network.

EDUCATION & TRAINING
LEADERSHIP FORUMS In 2022, the FBINAA conducted 14 Leadership Forums: two Mass Casualty Response Leadership Forums, three Officer Resiliency, Safety & Wellness Leadership Forums, one Human Trafficking Leadership Forum, one Life After Law Enforcement® Leadership Forum, and six Leadership Tactics and Strategies for Tumultuous Times Leadership Forums. The goal of these Forums is to provide all law enforcement and other leaders with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to improve the overall security and wellness of their communities. Nearly 500 were trained in 2022. THE FALLEN OFFICERS FUND Verizon Offers Support Where It Matters, When It Matters. For many years, Verizon has supported Public Safety and the families of law enforcement who have made the ultimate sacrifice. To date, Verizon has donated more than two million dollars to the surviving families. These funds are distributed through Verizon’s partnership with the FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. In many instances, members of the local FBINAA Chapter will present the donation to the family. Please contact the office of the FBI National Academy Associates with information on any sworn officer killed in the line of duty, feloniously or accidentally. The Association will coordinate with Verizon and The Fallen Officers Fund to distribute funds to that officer’s designated beneficiary. TRAINING WEBINAR SERIES The FBINAA's 2022 Training Webinar Series provided our members and their staffs with 13 webinars focused on cutting-edge law enforcement topics and trends that were delivered by law enforcement and public safety experts from around the world. These webinars were a free member benefit and reached over 3,200 law enforcement executives.

58 TH NATIONAL ANNUAL TRAINING CONFERENCE
JULY 30 - AUGUST 2, 2022 CLEVELAND, OH
The four-day 2022 National Annual Training Conference was attended by nearly 2,000 individuals. This conference included 50 hours of law enforcement training sessions, general membership, two major evening events, a welcome reception, opening and closing ceremonies, a professional exhibition, and four after-hours receptions. The Co-Host Committee, along with local law enforcement volunteers from the metropolitan Cleveland area is the main reason this annual conference was so successful. In addition, the 2022 Conference received tremendous support from other section chapters. This was the first time the National Annual Training Conference was held in Cleveland, Ohio. Thank you to the Ohio Chapter with special recognition for the Co-Host Committee and its members for such a successful conference.
