This manual has been designed for easy reference to the information required to visually reproduce campaign and branding initiatives associated with the FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. (FBINAA). These compliance standards ensure a consistent presentation, which is critical to the success of the FBI National Academy Associates brand. Inconsistent usage of the FBINAA Seal and other brand elements could weaken and dilute the message to consumers about the brand. Protocols for the Use and Reproduction Bearing the Seal of the FBINA & FBINAA, Inc.: The Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation has authorized the National Board of the FBINAA, Inc., to authorize and limit the use of the official Seal of the FBI National Academy, pursuant to Title 18, United States Code, Section 709. The authorization includes responsibility to ensure that the use of and/or reproduction of the Seal follows the standards provided in this guidebook. The FBINAA is acting as a steward of the Seal and must approve its use.

The FBI National Academy Associates, Inc. (FBINAA) is a non profit, international organization of 14,000+ senior law enforcement professionals dedicated to providing our communities, states, countries, and profession with the highest degree of law enforcement expertise, training, education, and information. We are the strongest law enforcement leadership network in the world and are dedicated to strengthening the rule of law around the globe.

Members are graduates of the FBI’s prestigious National Academy (FBINA) program, representing all 50 states, 176 countries and over 8,200 law enforcement agencies. Over 56,000 graduates have completed the FBINA program.* FBINAA members make up the highest 1% of all senior law enforcement in the world. The Best of the Best. FBINAA Stewards of the Seal

The FBINAA has been authorized by the FBI Director to authorize and limit the use of the official Seal of the FBI National Academy. The FBINAA are stewards of the use of the Seal. Please follow the protocol depending on your use of the FBI National Academy official Seal. 1. All requests to reproduce the Seal and to produce items for use and or sale which bear the Seal must be submitted to the National Office for approval. 2. The requesting entity will be provided with a copy of the official Seal and will be directed to submit a sample product for approval, prior to production. 3. All entities approved to reproduce the Seal on merchandise for sale must sign a contract between entity and FBINAA. Submit request to FBINAA National Office.

n Submit request for use contract to the FBINAA National Office n Both parties sign contract which will provide the conditions and limitations concerning quality, reporting and royalty payments to the designated Chapter or the FBINAA n Receive Seal and provide to vendor n Vendor sends product sample to FBINAA to approve prior to production n Entity will provide quarterly sales records and royalties to the Chapter or the National Office

The official Seal will be provided to Chapters at no cost for the purpose of chapter use on items that are not for profit sale items. n Submit request to FBINAA n Receive Seal and provide to vendor n Vendor sends product sample to FBINAA to approve

Note: Each Chapter bears the responsibility for each event. Vendors cannot be approved for multiple Chapter events and must receive approval for each event. The National Office agrees to waive the commission if the Chapter accepts oversight responsibility for vendor integrity to use the Seal. The commission exemption applies to only those products bought/sold during each Chapter event.

Improper Mark Usage The Primary and Secondary Marks of the FBINA Seal should not be altered in any way from what is supplied by the FBINAA. Below are examples of misuse of the Seal that are to be avoided.

Any alterations required due to production processes are to be approved by the National Office.

DO NOT add to or place any graphic element over the Seal or place the Seal partially behind an element.

DO NOT replace any graphic elements with something else.

DO NOT change the text fonts.

DO NOT redraw the Seal.

DO NOT rearrange the elements of the Seal to create another version.

DO NOT skew the Seal or scale it disproportionately.

DO NOT rotate or change the Seal’s orientation from 90° in relation to a graphic layout.

DO NOT change or alter the colors.

DO NOT place the Seal inside a container.

DO NOT lock-up other graphics or logos with the Seal to appear as one design.

DO NOT place the Seal on photos or backgrounds that clash. Use on solid backgrounds using colors in the FBINAA Color Palette or backgrounds specified in this guide.

Graduate & Member Seals / Use of the Seal

USE OF THE SEAL

BY CHAPTERS

For so long as the Chapter retains chapter status hereunder, the Chapter may use the Association’s name, NA Seal, and logo for the limited purpose of furthering the Association’s mission and may use the Association’s Section 501(c)(3) status as defined by the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, and as authorized by the FBI Director, dated June 16, 2014. See FBINAA Stewards of the Seal (page 3) for additional information.

BY MEMBERS

The official Seal will be provided to Members, at no cost, for the purpose of member use in email signatures or on items that are not for profit/sale. The Seal is to used in accordance with this Brand Standard and not utilized in a way to imply affiliation with a company or organization. See FBINAA Stewards of the Seal (page 3) for additional information.

BY ACADEMIC AND STRATEGIC PARTNERS

Academic and Strategic Partners of the FBINAA shall not use or facilitate the use of FBINAA’s name, Seal, or other proprietary mark or identification, without advance, specific, written approval of FBINAA. An official Alliance badge will be issued to partners for promotional use based on their level and period of sponsorship.
