Daniel Fm-geron is executive director of business affairs at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. He reports that his daughter, Amie, graduated from Loyola in December 1996. Daniel and his wife, Mary Ann, live in Torrance.... Carol Frey is a teacher at The Colony High School in The Colony, Texas. She is publishing her sixth genealogy/historical book.... Richard Haines (M.Ed. '77) is a special education teacher at the Paia School in Paia, Hawaii. He reports that he has been surfing and windsurfing on Maui and in the Fiji Islands.... Kathleen Keogh is a senior lab assistant with Wyeth Lederle in West Henrietta, N.Y. Philip Keogh earned a Ph.D. from UCSD in chemistry. Kathleen and Philip have four children, ages 22, 20, 18 and 15. Their 18-year-old son enlisted in the Marine Corps band and is doing his basic training in San Diego.... Lynn Scherer is the principal and a teacher at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Lakeside, Calif. Lynn and her husband, Richard, have four children: Bridget, 26, a teacher at Christ the King in the Bronx; Geoffrey, 20, who majors in jazz at Loyola in New Orleans; Elizabeth, 8, and Caitlin, 6, who are both in Nazareth school. ... David Schmelzle and his wife, Kathie, have been married for 26 years and he has been a pediatrician for 18 years. They live in Vista, Calif., and have five children, three of whom are in college - one at USD. David enjoys hiking, camping and fishing with the family.... Wilson Shepherd is enjoy– ing retirement near the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. He and his wife, Lola Steele, have two quarter horses that they keep busy on numerous trail rides. They are also doing "a good bit of traveling." ... Edward Smith is retired as a California licensed clinical lab scientist and lives in Eureka, Calif. He says he is looking for regular part-time work. ··· Patricia Wheeler opened a Montessori school, the Montessori Achievement Centre, on a new site in Spring Valley, Calif. GRADUATE AND LAW SCHOOL ALUMNI Monsignor Joseph Carroll (M.A.) writes: "I recently opened a 300-bed shelter in Las Vegas, Nev. In San Diego, our centers house more than 900 guests. In 1998, we will build and open a new center in downtown San Diego for homeless teens." ... Marcheta Gardner (M.Ed.) and her husband, Paul, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 30 with a Mass at Mission San Antonio de Pala. Marcheta and her husband live in Valley Center, Calif.... R. Kent Harvey (J.D.) is a part– ner with George H. Jones Inc. in Newport Beach, Calif. From 1979 to 1987, he was attorney general of the trust territory of the Pacific Islands.

Their son, Ian, is in his second year at Santa Clara University and their daughter, Kate, is a junior at Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana.... Richard Picard and his wife, Lana, live in Greensboro, N.C., where he is a cer– tified public accountant at Robertson, Neal & Co. He is also an independent representa– tive for International Heritage Inc. UNDERGRADUATE ALUMNI Margaret (Burges) Cardwell and her husband, Craig, relocated to Atlanta, where Margaret is a circulation librarian at DeKalb College.... Steven Davis and his wife, Teresa, moved in 1996 to Minnesota, where he is president of East Silent Advisors, a consulting business for companies that want public financing. They have two children: Brian, 15, and Kate, 13.... Charlotte (Moore) Leavitt returned to full-time teaching in Ontario, Canada.... John Murphy (J.D. '75) joined the San Fran– cisco office of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton. John is a former attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C., and a past chairman of the business law section of the State Bar of Cali– fornia.
