J he USD community cele– brated the second annual Founders Day on Nov. 12 with a Mass in Founders Chapel. Held each year on the Feast of San Diego de Alcala, USD's patron saint, the service honors his memory and that of the university's founders, The Most Reverend Charles Francis

Buddy and Mother Rosalie Hill, R.S.C.J. This year, the event recognized those who participated in the 1972 merger of the San Diego College for Women and the University of San Diego College for Men. Alumni from the Class of 1972 and current 25-year employees of USD were invited to the ceremony to commemo– rate the 25th anniversary of the merger. A highlight of the day was the unveiling of the silver anniversary seal (see story on page 6).
