Church, Hall · Is Approved Excavation for Foundation of New El Cerrito Heights Church Started Yesterday; Ocean Beach Parish to Have Parish Hall. Plans and specifications were passed this week by the Diocesan building committee and given the final approval of His Excellency, Bishop (;harles F. and a.ssistant of Our Lady of Sacred Heart parish, from which parish the new parish has been carved. Excavating for the f©undation of the church was started yestor- day morning, and erection of the building will follow immediately by local engineers and artisans un- der the supervision of Father Lynn. Plans for the new mission style edifice which will cost approxi- mately $15,000, were drawn hV Architect Frank L. Hope, Jr. The building will be of concrete stucco and will adjoin the mission style rectory next door by an art!.stical- ly designed pergola. Build Modem Hall Erection of a parish hall in: Sacred Heart parish, Ocl!an Beach, will also be started imme- diately, the work being carried on under the supervision of the pas- tor, the Rev. Peter Connolly. BISHOP TO ORUAIN AT S~NTA BARBARA His Excelency, Bishop Charles F. Buddy, will officiate, Sunday, August 21, at the ordination of 18 Franciscan seminarians at the Franciscan seminary, Old Mission Santa Barbara. The young men will receive the orders of Tonsure Minor orders and Subdeaconite. 1
