Students, parents of graduating seniors and friends gathered Thursday night in the main quadrangle of St. Mary's college for the traditional cap and gown ceremony. Among the prominent figures attending the rites were the Most Rev. Charles Francis Buddy, D . D., bishop of San Diego, Calif., the Rev. Francis Schumacher, C. S. C., chap- lain of the college and the Rev. William R. Connor, C. S. C., chaplain of the convent. The group is shown in the photo above. Among the South Bend girls taking par t in the ceremony were, left to right in the lower photo, Mary Agnes Crepeau, a junior, Mil- dred Froning, president of the senior class, and Catherine Phillipson, a junior.
