Patton is the business manager for the Intermountain ESD and was formerly a vice president at Banner Bank. “I feel honored to have been selected to be part of this iconic organization and can’t wait to get started,” Patton said in a press release. “I look forward to being part of its future.” Patton lives in the Pendleton area with her husband and two children, all who are active in rodeo. “Erika has the talent, energy and background to successfully lead our day-to-day operations and execute strategic plan- ning necessary to navigate the rapid growth of the Pendleton Round-Up Association,” Round-Up President Dave O’Neill said. “It is especially rewarding to bring on somebody from our area that knows our story and is personally invested in our com- munity. That truly is a template for success.”

Tough Enough To Wear Pink donates more than $34,000 More than $34,000 was distrib- uted between two local cancer support organizations from the Pendleton (Ore.) Round-Up’s 2018 Tough Enough To Wear Pink (TETWP) campaign during a presenta- tion at the Pendleton Round-Up & Happy Canyon Hall of Fame, March 14. The Round-Up Association’s TETWP allocated $34,257 in 2018 funds between the St. Anthony Hospital Cancer Care Clinic and the Kickin’ Cancer New Beginnings program. This is the second-most amount the campaign has raised (the most was in 2015, with more than $39,000 raised). Contributions came from sponsorships, TETWP merchandise sales, donations from spectators and volunteers, custom pink TETWP Justin Boots and custom Montana Silversmiths jewelry raffle ticket sales, pink Wrangler shirt sales, collector’s pin sales, tips donated by Let ’er Buck Room volunteers on TETWP day during Round-Up, and the Justin Boots Slack After Party. “We’re so appreciative of the community’s gen- erosity in this campaign,” said Casey White-Zollman, co-chair of the Round-Up’s TETWP campaign. “Seeing everyone come together in pink during Round-Up to show their support for cancer survivors and patients is so powerful.”

This high-profile event not only raises breast cancer awareness to the thousands of visitors who come to the Round-Up each year, but 100 percent of the proceeds stay within the Pendleton community. The two organiza- tions benefiting from the TETWP campaign help local patients from time of diagnosis through recovery. The Kick’n Cancer program provides free massage, personal training and Pilates classes for recovering patients, while the St. Anthony Cancer Care Clinic provides breast prosthetics, mastectomy bras, post-op camisoles, lymphedema sleeves, pads and gloves, mastectomy swimwear, wigs, financial help, and mileage reimbursement for cancer patients. “TETWP wouldn’t be possible without the com- mitment from our sponsors, the Pendleton Round-Up, community members and our amazing volunteers,” said Jill Gregg, co-chair of the Round-Up’s TETWP campaign. “We are very thankful for their continued support to make this event a success.” The Pendleton Round-Up Association’s TETWP campaign will celebrate its 14th year in 2019.
