a. MCCB Items:

i. Krista LeBrun 1. Raul requests that if you add a class within 6 weeks before the end of the semester (which would only impact 4-week courses), please email Krista LeBrun with that course information. There are audit issues with adding courses towards the end of the semester. If we have an influx of courses being added late, Raul may have to change his audit processes. 2. Many colleges are having the issue of Turnitin not generating assignment reports for Canvas assignments. If your college has issues with Turnitin, be sure to submit an MSVCC ticket. Chris cannot fix the issues, but they need to be documented. Laura Sellers is aware of the issue and has mentioned that we may need to look at other plagiarism products. Krista will research our Canvas contract regarding Turnitin services, and follow up. ii. Brooke Doggett 1. Academy Update a. The Academy has had over 600 participants since the beginning of the semester. Many Career Tech instructors are now participating in webinars. Almost all colleges are participating in the Academy. TEO always makes; however, some courses are not getting good enrollment. Several will be removed from the Spring schedule. 2. MILD Conference Presentation - Teaching Professor Technology Conference a. Pros: Atlanta, Georgia – location and hotel were nice. Great conference for online faculty. b. Cons: Too many sessions at the same time, learning goals didn’t align with what was covered, conference rooms were hard to find throughout the hotel. c. Valuable Takeaways: Don’t be afraid to allow your students to fail. Provide them with opportunities to test their knowledge before the midterm and final exams. a. Chris has been working with Krista to develop a more useful P&P format. To access the new format, go to the MELA Course in Canvas  MELA files  New P&P Beta. Chris created the new format through iBooks and Flippingbook. It has a much more modern look, easily searchable, printable, has a linkable table of contents, etc. 1. New MSVCC Policy & Procedure Format Unfinished Business a. Quality Committee Update and Recommendations on Instructor of the Year Processes (Jennifer Leimer) i. The Quality Committee is discussing narrowing down the amount of Instructor of the Year nominations so there is a smaller pool to vote for. They are discussing the idea of one nominee per college. The committee is meeting and working on different ideas, editing the documentation, adding more streamline electronic processes, etc. ii. One we hear back from the Quality Committee regarding changes and recommendations; we will have an electronic vote on the changes. There is a short- iii. Chris Ryals
