help employees get a degree to help them advance in their careers. Also, to help provide families gain more stainable wages, and become less reliant on government assistance. Grant monies fund the initiative, and a project manager will be hired to work for three years on this project. ii. 350,000 prospective students have been identified for this project. The push is for 60% degree attainment in Mississippi by 2025. Degrees beyond high school education are needed in workforce, and currently Mississippi only has 36% of employees with a degree beyond value. iii. Adult Learners Services audits (ALFI Toolkits) will be conducted; outreach, and other methods will be used to reach the goal timeline. A marketing firm is currently creating direct mail out materials, a website, etc. iv. What does your institution have that attracts adult learners? One answer is online classes . eLearning may be asked to become more active with the this initiative. a. Menia from SARA proposed that we do a teleconference to answer any outstanding questions (for Mississippi or National SARA paperwork) that we have. i. For the National SARA paperwork, you should get a reminder 90 days before it is due. After you submit, send Krista your invoice for payment. ii. Most of the group had already gotten a response from Menia, and didn’t feel that a teleconference was needed. a. Not every college is using the Academy Catalog, so it is hindering some of Brooke’s reports, enrollments, and certificate distribution. The webinar evaluation and/or completion of a course module prove the instructor really participated, and are one of the many reasons why the Catalog should be used by all colleges. 2. The Academy dates and times are appealing to many; the Needs Assessment Survey gave great feedback. ii. TEO, TEO II, and TEO III 1. A preliminary meeting was held at MGCCC with the Training Committee (Kimberly Ellis), the Quality Committee (Jennifer Leimer), Buffy, and Brooke Doggett met to discuss the revamping of TEO. Beginning in Fall 2017, TEO will no longer be one course. It will be broken into three courses: a. TEO I will be designed for new instructors who haven’t had Canvas training. i. TEO facilitators have noticed that many who currently take TEO, do not know Canvas basics (how to create a Module/Assignment/etc.) and are overwhelmed in building a course shell. 3. SARA (Krista LeBrun) 1. The Academy Catalog is going very well.
