and while the issues regarding the fair payment of artists for their music remains far from settled, it's not dimming the passion of artists to create. Passion is valuable thing: it's got me through the last eight years of making in-store music content for JB Hi-Fi, the last four here at STACK, and this is my last issue as music editor. Industry and audience changes have buffeted The Getaway Plan, just as they've challenged the rest of the industry, but whether you like the racket they make or not, they've stepped up, and stuck at it. Whether you stream it or insist on buying everything on vinyl (or both!), music ain't going away anytime soon; audiences are still in venues, music is being heard, and is shaping culture. Things will keep changing: the trick is to roll with the punches, and to keep trying to be good at what you do. It's no guarantee of success, but not doing so is absolutely a guarantee of failure. W elcome to another issue of STACK Music. This month we speak to The Getaway Plan, who are, obviously, a very determined lot: they've weaved around break-ups, scandals and line-up changes to emerge with their aptly titled new album Dark Horses .
