TOM CLANCY'S THE DIVISION

Woo hoo, Black Friday – it’s time to shop till we drop! Unfortunately that happens literally, as a pandemic spreads rapidly through the USA via banknotes. Society collapses – including the government – quicker than you can say ‘house of cards’. As a member of The Division, a unit of sleeper agents who can operate independently and have been ready should such a situation eventuate, you’re pretty much New York City’s last hope. You have to save the uninfected,

restore essential services and nut out just WTF the original source of this outbreak was. No pressure though... An online third-person RPG shooter, you’ve an open world NYC to play in, including such landmarks as Madison Square Garden and Times Square. Or you can make like The Jam and go underground, but you’ll be more likely to encounter dodgy types who’ve sprung forth since everything went pear-shaped. From firefighters gone bonkers to violent escaped

convicts, lowlife street crims and Wall Street private military contractors, there’s plenty to be wary of. Then there’s the quarantined multiplayer playground that is the Dark Zone. It has the most valuable loot, but it’s also the most likely place that you’ll die. Ah, New York, New York – a helluva town!

GENRE: ACT/ADV PLATFORM: PS4 RELEASE: 02/03/16 MULTIPLAYER: NO

If you look up ‘intrepid’ in the dictionary, there’s just a picture of Link. Well OK, in the Hyrule dictionary... The little guy sure gets around and this adventure, regarded by many as the best of the Zelda games, comes to the Wii U after sorties into the worlds of Gamecube and waggly Wii. It also comes from right here in Australia, where it’s been lovingly recreated

Let the arguments recommence – are they movies? No, they have interactive bits. Are they games then? Well, they often have limited gameplay. So, we’ll plump for ‘interactive fiction’ and just get on with it. Two emotional PS3 journeys from French creative bloke David Cage (no relation to Mortal Kombat’s Johnny) and his Quantic Dreams studio, where opinions were

in HD, boasting many an improved texture, gameplay tweaks (the GamePad really comes into its own here), and also amiibo support. For those not up with the story, basically Link is turned into a wolf and has to restore light spirits in order to save Hyrule. Yay intrepidness!

generally mixed. Those who clicked with the noir thrills (and Jason calling) of Heavy Rain and the teen angst chick with her creepy pet entity thing in Beyond: Two Souls, really did click though, hence this HD re-release with some tweaks – most notably the ability to play the latter game in (mostly) chronological order.
