20th Annual NJPN Conference - 2020 Vision Program Book

a message from... NJPN’S CEO & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

thank you SPONSORS & SUPPORTERS

Welcome to the NJPN 20th Annual Conference: 2020 Vision: Focus on Addiction! I hope you and your family are safe and healthy.

So much has changed since NJPN’s first conference in 2000. Although we hoped to make our 20th year special, moving to a virtual platform was unexpected. Yet we remain committed to the Annual Addiction Conference goals to provide a full day of professional workshops, networking, and opportunities for sponsors and exhibitors to share valuable resources and information to assist those working in the field of addiction. In the midst of this unprecedented pandemic, the theme of this year’s conference, Focus on Addiction, remains extremely important. We are inspired by the increasingly important role you have in helping to make lives healthier and communities stronger. Workshops will address the challenges of work today and prepare you to address the aftermath of this crisis. National and State speakers will share the very best practices in the field and strategies to address current challenges communities are facing. One exciting benefit of a virtual conference, is the opportunity to provide everyone with up to 17 hours of continued education credit. This is attainable by participating in today’s live presentations and returning to the virtual platform to attend all recorded workshops on-demand through December 2020. A big thank you to Hackensack Meridian Health - Carrier Clinic for believing and supporting our conference mission as our top sponsor. And to GCADA, the NJ Division of Highway Traffic Safety and the NJ Division of Mental Health Addiction Services for their dedication to statewide professional development by providing valued scholarships. The 2020 conference would not be possible without the support of all dedicated sponsors and exhibitors. I encourage you to learn more about each supporting agency and the resources and services they provide by using scheduled times to visit the interactive booths. Download unlimited resources to your virtual conference bag. Engage LIVE through chat or zoom just as you would in person! Making these important connections with colleagues remains a significant benefit of this conference. COVID-19, and the recent tragic events taking place across our country, has challenged us in so many ways. Shelter at home, social distancing, economic loss, illness, death, and all other disparities placed unbelievable strain on many of us and the people we serve. We look to our core values and hope for social justice and human rights to help us to heal in unity. Today, we hope all of us feel a bit more united as we focus on a day of learning and connecting. The Conference Planning Committee and the NJPN staff have worked very hard to make this experience beneficial and enjoyable for everyone we serve, and I could not be more proud to be part of this team.
