IWMA EDUCATIONAL TRUST FUND NEWS APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR THE JOHN C HOGG TRAVEL AWARD wire Düsseldorf 2010, 12 th – 16 th April

In addition to the continuous support that the IWMA provides to education within the industry, we are again able to announce a Travel Award Scheme to the world’s largest and most prestigious wire exhibition. This scheme is available to students, apprentices or trainees recommended or sponsored by a member of the IWMA to provide the individual with an opportunity to attend the event that he or she would not normally have. The Award provides: Return air travel from country of domicile to Düsseldorf, Germany during the period of the trade fair. a) A minimum of 2 night’s hotel accommodation in Düsseldorf, excluding meals and local travel expenses. b) Free entry and catalogue to wire/Tube Düsseldorf 2010. c) VIP guest ticket for the IWMA Industry Dinner on 13 d) th April 2010 during wire. Applicant must be at least 18 years of age on his or her last birthday. There is no upper age limit 1. Applicant must be pursuing a training programme or career (technical, engineering, production, management etc) 2. related to the wire, cable, fiber optic or wire material and product industry. Applicants are required to be employed by, sponsored or recommended/introduced by a member company of the 3. International Wire & Machinery Association, and this should be verified on the application form. The applicant must complete the official application formprovided by the IWMA and this must be verified by the employer 4. or the nominating organisation. All applications must be returned to the IWMA UK office via fax or mail before 18.00hrs on 30 5. th September 2009. Successful applicants must agree to allow their name and photograph to be published or reproduced as determined 6. by the IWMA. Applications from established managers will not be accepted but those from trainee managers will be considered on 7. an individual basis. The Trustees will not accept applications that appear to subsidise a company’s normal travel costs for wire Düsseldorf. All details provided by the successful applicant are subject to publication by the IWMA for publicity purposes prior to, 8. during or following the exhibition. The selection of applicants is entirely at the discretion of the IWMA Executive Committee and no reason or explanation is 9. given for failure to select applications. Successful applicants will be notified by the IWMA before 1 10. st December 2009 and invited to accept the John C Hogg Travel Award as described in the offer letter accompanying these conditions. The IWMA is not responsible for insurances or third party liability claims applicable to those persons receiving the award who should protect their own interests in this respect. All applicants are deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions applicable to the IWMA John C Hogg Travel 11. Award scheme. Conditions of Application:

All members of the IWMA are invited to introduce this scheme to a suitable applicant whom they consider worthy and applicable according to the foregoing conditions.
