Columbia Marketplace Tenant Meeting RE: Grease Dumpster

December 16, 2019

Mandatory Tenant Meeting regarding recent Howard County Civil Citation

Dear Tenant,

Your presence is required for a mandatory Columbia Marketplace Tenant Meeting. The meeting will be held at Cazbar in Suite 121-122 this Thursday, December 19, at 2:00 p.m. One person from each company, manager-level or higher, must be present at this meeting. On December 10, 2019, Merritt Properties received a Civil Citation and fine from Howard County related to evidence of grease and kitchen wastewater being discharged into the stormwater inlet. In addition, trash was found scattered on the ground in the parking lot. As part of the violation, Howard County has imposed an initial $500 fine with the possibility of an additional $1,000 per-day fine for continued violation. Howard County is requiring Columbia Marketplace tenants to immediately stop discharging any non-stormwater discharges to the storm drain system. They are also requesting that tenants and Merritt develop, submit and implement a training program for Columbia Marketplace employees that explains exactly how tenants should collect and dispose of all grease, trash and kitchen wastewater. We will be discussing the violation and the development of the required training program at this mandatory meeting.

Sincerely,

Michael Scheiner Merritt Properties
