Fillers can be added. DeWal’s RoHS-compliant films and tapes will also be present, including low density films (as low as 0.4g/cc) used to wrap primary wires in high flex cable. Other films in this group are for coaxial cable applications where low signal loss is required. Laminated fluoropolymer films with dissimilar materials, often elastomers or melt processable fluoropolymers, are also available. Gem Gravure

Gotex SA has been serving the worldwide cable industry with custom fiber solutions since 1947. From its European manufacturing facility the company supplies flexible strength members, central strength elements, binder yarns, ripcords, water blocking yarns, woven glass tapes (for protection against rodents), aramid woven tapes (for ballistic protection of ADSS cables) and mica tapes for fire protection.

The alphaJET evo from KBA-Metronic and Gem Gravure Co Inc is designed to meet the printing needs of the wire and cable industry. The alphaJET evo benefits from Ethernet, USB and RS232 interfaces for smooth integration into new or existing production processes. The unit has an IP65-rated stainless steel housing, to withstand challenging environmental conditions, and a solvent recovery unit, for dramatically lower solvent usage. The 10.4” TFT color display is designed to lead the operator simply and intuitively via a Windows CE-based operating system. A tough touch panel tilts, can be positioned to suit the operator’s requirements, and is completely removable. The alphaJET evo prints TrueType fonts without loss of speed. Logos and graphics can be created with a PC graphics program and transferred as a bitmap to the ink jet printer. It operates with the full range of GEM ink jet fluids.

Hoowaki LLC

Extrusion dies from Hoowaki LLC use micro- structured surfaces to lower friction on wire and cable polymer jackets, so providing easier installation. Standard extrusion dies are modified with the low friction surface and the micro-features then transfer to the product during the normal extrusion process, requiring few or no adjustments to the process and no adjustments to the material.
