The very roomy wards arc well kept and present the greatest ordcr imaginable. The budding includes a spaeious court, called «the Greenyard», wliere those pati­ ents, who are so far convalesent, are allowed to enjoy air and exercise. Altliough the hospi­ tal being richly endowed the government con- tributes an annual sum of 15,000 Rd. Det nye Coinimine Hospital, The New Mimi- cipal Hospital, siluate on Farimagsveien, was opened in the autum 1863 having been buil- ding about four and a haif ycar. The building, the facade of which is 684 feet in lenglli, is, the Christiansborg Palace excepled, of the most imposant dimensions in Copenhagen. Il has accomodation for 800 patients, distributed in hvo buildings comprising the administrative and ecconomical offices, and is provided with all ingenious comforts for the promotion of licalth and use. Rut the cliief atlraclion of this hospital is undoubtedly its system of ven­ tilation, construcled on the most modern prin­ ciples. None of the wards is capable of holding more than 10 beds.
