The building was originally a Ilippodrome con- nected with a riding-school; but in 1857 it was fitled up as a theatre under the manage­ ment of Mr. Lange. The theatre ilself is handsome and most comfortable and will hold about 1600 spectators. The pcrformances principally consist of vaudevilles and farces of the broadest cast, which are all performed with cxcllcnt harmony.
