In thc centre, surrounded by tall trees, is a fountain: a group in bronze rcpresenling a boy mounted on a swan from whose throat issues a jet of water. An ollier ornament is the «IIercules-paviIion» at the end of the «Caviliers- Walk.«, built by Harsdorf. It takes its name from the group in the centre niche of the pa- vilion, rcpresenling Hercules breaking thc bons jaw. In two side niches arc statues of Or- pheus and Euridice. These with the two marble - medaillons above the niche , were cxecuted by John Baratta of Elorence. On eitlier side a wicket-gate, opening on a bridge that leads lo the castle of Rosenborg, is thc flgure in copper of a lion couchant, and hard by these a remarkable group: a lion and a horse, thc most horribly unsightly Avork of art that can be imagined, cast in bronze by the order of Christian IV, «al'tcr an antique«. An iron railing runs along the enlire lenght of the garden between il and Kronprindsesse- gade, and liere are 13 Pavilions built ol' brick- work whicli are hired out as shops.
