טיפול בסרטן מעי גס ממוקם

סיכום ההחלטה בנוגע למתן טיפול משלים בחולים לאחר ניתוח עקב גידול ממוקם של המעי הגס נשענת בראש ובראשונה על מצבו הקליני של החולה ועל הממצאים הפתולוגיים. כאשר קיימת התלבטות בנוגע למתן טיפול משלים, ניתן להיעזר בבדיקות מולקולריות - ביומרקרים. קיימת המלצה בחולים MSI/MMR רשמית לבצע בדיקת שבהם שוקלים טיפול II עם גידולים בשלב משלים. השימוש בביומרקרים אחרים הינו אינדיבידואלי, ושמור למקרים בהם קיימת התלבטות בנוגע למתן טיפול משלים, וכאשר הרופא סבור שביצוע הבדיקה יסייע למטופל ולרופא לקבל החלטה טיפולית.
