Member Committees AT The American Club

COMMITTEE FEATURE

The Member-owned structure of The American Club provides its Members with ample opportunities to serve on various committees, all of which work closely with Management to set key policies and procedures to ensure that The Club remains a successful, thriving and vibrant community.

More than 100 Member volunteers currently dedicate their time and expertise across 25 committees and sub- committees to help drive The Club’s mission and vision forward.

COMMITTEE STRUCTURE

General Committee • Responsible for the management of The Club and its assets on behalf of the Members • Supervises and directs the General Manager in running the day-to-day operations and conducting the affairs of The Club • Provides direction and guidance to all Standing Committees and Sub-committees Advisory committees, providing the General Committee with feedback and recommendations pertinent to their area of focus • Each Standing Committee is chaired by a General Committee Member Sub-committees • Created to address matters of specific interest to the relevant Standing Committee Standing Committees •

• Each General Committee member serves a 2-year term • The President of The Club, also chair of the General Committee, has a maximum tenure of 2 one-year terms unless re-elected by at least two-thirds of the General Committee •

A Member may be nominated to the General Committee via any Ordinary Member as proposer and 25 additional Ordinary Members as seconders • All committee members are required to sign a Confidentiality Statement in relation to general Club business and information • All committees are dissolved at the end of each fiscal year and reconstituted at the beginning of each new fiscal year • Any Member may observe committee meetings (including General Committee meetings) in action, with the exception of a few executive sessions
