JADE QUENTIN Sr. P/OF R/R

CHULA VISTA, CA USDHS

2000: Was selected to the All -WISL softball team and All-WISL academic team in her junior campaign. Led the Toreros in at bats (166) , hits (45), doubl es (7), triples (5), home runs (3), RBI (20) and s lugging percentage (.428). She recorded nine multi-hit games, was 5-of-6 in sto len base attempts and posted an .88 1 fielding percentage. Quentin was a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate versus CS San Bernardino, adding three runs and two RBI. She was also impressive vers us Michigan State (2-for-4, I RBI) and Hawa ii (2-for-2 , 2 RBI , I run ). Jade posted an 11-7 record from the mound. She tallied a 2. 11 earned run average and struck out 90 batters in 122.2 inni ngs. 1999: Jade had a sensationa l sophomore year and was named team MVP as a result. She

batted .337 and posted an on base percentage of .483 whi le playing in all ofUSD's 65 games. Quentin led the team in runs scored (48), total bases (87), walks (47) and hit by pitch (4). Her fie ldi ng percentage was a so lid .925 while play ing various positions on defense. Jade was named to the All-WISL softball team and All-WISL academic team.

I 998: Quentin began wearing the Torero uniform in 1998 and immed iately began to contribute to USD's success. She was named Rookie of the Yea r after batting .336 and going 12-1 2 as a pitcher. Quentin led the pitching staff with a 2.01 ERA in 160. 1 innings of work tota ling 98 strikeouts and just 28 wa lks. She played in 57 games tallying 51 hits, 28 runs, 7 doubles and 18 RBI. Prep: Named to the San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic Team during her senior campaign. Was an All-CIF selection and two-time All-Western League pick. Quentin was named Prep Athlete of the Week as a junior and team MVP. She led her team to three CIF titles and two league championsh ips. Wh il e attending USDHS , Jade also lettered in Cross Country. Personal: Born on January 12, 1980 in Los Alamitos, California. Jade chose to attend USO for its location and strong academic reputation. She is a Psychology major and B iology minor. Jade was also recruited by St. Mary 's and Concordia. Parents are Charles and Enriqueta of Chul a Vista, California. Her younger brother, Carl os, is playing baseball at Stanford.
