AL & ALMA’S BOAT CRUISE Enjoy a spectacular relaxing lunch while the captain and crew share stories of the lake, point out beautiful estates and navigate the shores, channels, bays and islands of Lake Minnetonka’s 114 miles of shoreline. 'BREAKING UP IS HARD TO DO’ SONGS OF NEIL SEDAKA “Breaking Up is Hard to Do featuring the songs of Neil Sedaka” – Ives Auditorium set at a Catskills resort in 1960, this is the sweetly comic story of Lois and Marge, two friends from Brooklyn in search of good times and romance over one wild Labor Day weekend. The score showcases 18 Neil Sedaka classics, including “Where the Boys Are," “Sweet Sixteen,” “Calendar Girl," “Love Will Keep Us Together" and, of course, the chart-topping title song. Menu includes oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, buttered corn, southern style green beans, coleslaw, buttermilk biscuits, assorted desserts and coffee/water/hot tea. Trip Pace: Light. FOLDS OF HONOR Folds of Honor is an engaging and expressive 30-minute presentation covering the historical background of the “Three Volleys,” the bugle call “Taps,” as well as the folding of the American flag when presented at the conclusion of a military funeral. Included in the presentation are intriguing, often little-known details of the origin of the three rifle volleys, evolution of the 24 notes of “Taps.” Myths, and commemorative sites. The presentation of the folding of an American flag includes its patriotic historical background and an explanation of the symbolism of the thirteen folds as it is folded. Veterans will be recognized at the end of the event speech. Richard Middleton is the presenter. Lunch includes: Two-piece chicken dinner with mashed potatoes/gravy, coleslaw, biscuits, & dessert. CABARET AT THE GUTHRIE THEATER The time is WWII and inside Berlin’s seedy Kit Kat Klub; patrons are invited to partake in a decadent underworld of musical numbers, kick lines and torrid affairs – a welcome escape from the ever-growing Nazi influence just outside its doors. As the political unrest nears a tipping point, the nice cabaret life begins to fade, putting love, friendship and loyalties to the test. This Tony Award-winning musical feast, featuring hits such as “Willkommen,” and “Cabaret,” is both daring and dazzling. NOTE: This trip does NOT include a meal; please eat lunch prior departure.
