1983 Alcalá

The Student Council for Exceptional Childrenis a profes­ sional organization made up of students interested in the field of special education. The council has become involved in many activities such as: the SpecialOlympic andReach Programs through the Association for Retarded Citizens; a Christmas program for the children at Children's Hospital; attendance at a state CEC convention; as well as arranging workshops and movies for USD students - all with the goal oflearning more for the future, sharing love with others and broadening public awareness of special people. FINANCE & INVESTMENT

In its second year, the Finance and Investment Society pro­ vides activities to complement the business curriculum.Mo­ derated by Dr. Hennigar, the club sponsored events which included numerous speakersfrom banking securities,invest­ ing, and forecasting,as wellas toursof local firms. FRENCH CLUB With their annual cheese tasting party, Christmas party and talent show, the French club enjoyed an exciting and active year. The club met every week to plan and discuss events. Members alsomet to improve their language skills and to learn more about the culture of France. The club enjoyed viewing French films, snacking at a patisserie, and meeting French V.I.P.'s. Viva la France!
