San Diego Diocese Gives $30,477.98 for Missions Home, Foreign Fields Share in Donations to Propagation of Faith, Holy Childhood Funds Catholics of the San Diego Diocese donated $30,477.98 to the missions during the year of 1946. Of this total, $14,500 1·epresents designated gifts, in- cluding l\Iass stipends and other financial lifts sent directly to missionary bishops and priests. The parishes and insti- l tutions of the diocese contributed , $12,543.19 to the general fund.

I The schools and academies of the diocese gave $3,434.79 to the As- sociation of the Holy Childhood. Topping the list of parishes con- tributing to the Society for the Propagation of the Faith was Our Lady of the Sacred Heart parish, San Diego, with a total of $1204, while the Cathedral parish came second with $1126.06. St. Brigid's parish, San Diego, ranked third with $509.25, St. Didacus parish, San Diego, rated fourth with $391, and St. Patrick's parish, San Di- ego, fifth with $391. Parishes with gifts totalling more than three hundred dollars were Sacred Heart parish, Redlands, Sacred Heart parish, San Diego, and St. Francis de Sales parish, Riverside. The Academy of Our Lady of Peace, San Diego, led the list of schools with a gift of $515, fol- lowed by St. Bernardine's, San Bernardino, $446, St. Joseph's grammar school, S a n Diego, $428.63, St. John's school, San Di- ego, $371.18, and the San Ysidro academy, San Ysidro, $317.19.
