Holy Ministry Starts at Cathedral

Catholic Bishop Ordains Three To Priesthood Three young men, one of them a native of Coronado, were ordained into the Catholic priesthood at a mass yesterday morning in St. Jo– seph's cathedral by the Most Rev. Charles Francis Buddy, bishop of the San Diego diocese. Ordained in the colorful ceremony were the Rev. James T. Booth, the Rev. Richard R. Daniels and the Rev. Maximillian Gomez. · The Rev. Daniels, born in Cor– onado in 1918, was graduated from St. Augustine High school here. He attended Loyola university at Les Angeles before enrolling at St. John's seminary in Camarillo, Calif. The Rev. Booth, a son of Mr. and Mrs. James T. Booth, of Needles, was born in Needles in 1924. He attended Abbey school and Holy Cross college, at Canon City, Colo., and Les AngE>les college. He com– pleted his six-year seminary course in philosophy and theology at St. John's seminary, Camarillo. The Rev. Gomez was born in Jalisco, Mexico. 26 years ago qpd studied for the priesthood at Monte– zuma semii1ar.v in New Mexico. His la t year of theology was taken at St. Edward's seminary in Kenmore, Wash. Bishop Buddy was as isted in' the ordination yesterday by the Very Rev. Franklin F. Hurd and the Very Rev. Leo Davis as arch-priests. He was assisted at the throne by Rev. Douglas A. Moore and Rev. James S. Prusinski.
