MartineMorillon-Carreau (born Nantes, France, 1948) received her first encouragement in poetry during a journalism internship, then went to work eight years in Martinique after a Master ’s degree in Law, after which she joined the Faculty of Law in Nantes. She is President of the Association Poésie/ première, and active in French letters widely. Translated from French by Clayton McKee
