Where:

w

is the element, either being Ca, K, Mg, P or Na, content, in grams per kilogram, of the test sample

using Equation 1;

w

is the element, either being Cu, Fe, Mn or Zn, content, in milligrams per kilogram, of the test sample

using Equation 2;

c

is the element mass of the test solution (9.3.1), expressed in milligrams per litre, calculated by the

software of the ICP-AES

V

is the volume, in millilitres, of digested solutions (

V

= 25 ml) are transferred quantitatively (9.3.1);

m

is the mass, in grams, of the test sample used in the procedure (9.1.1 or 9.1.2);

f

1

is the dilution factor of the test solution carried out during the preparation step (9.3.1.2);

f

2

is the dilution factor of the test solution carried out during the measurement step (9.3.2.3).

NOTE The internal standard will correct for a dilution.

The blanks shall be within range of detection limit; if not correct the concentrations of the test solutions.

10.2

Expression of test results

Express the test results to three significant figures.

11

Precision

The values for repeatability and reproducibility limit were derived from the results of interlaboratory

tests carried out in accordance with ISO 5725-1/2.

The values are expressed for the 95 % probability level and may not be applicable to concentration

ranges and matrices other than those given.

11.1

Repeatability

The absolute difference between two independent single test results, obtained using the same method

on identical test material in the same laboratory by the same operator using the same equipment within

a short interval of time, will in not more than 5 % of cases be greater than

(to determine)

% (relative) of

the arithmetic mean of the results, respectively for calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese,

phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and zinc.

11.2

Reproducibility

The absolute difference between two independent single test results, obtained using the same method

on identical test material in different laboratories with different operators using different equipment, will

in not more than 5 % of cases be greater than

(to determine)

% (relative) of the arithmetic mean of the

results, respectively for calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium,

sodium, and zinc.

12

Test report

The test report shall specify:

a)

all the information required for the complete identification of the sample;
