Energy for cooking in 2005-2006

Overall, 96 percent of the households in Uganda

depend on wood fuel for cooking purposes.

This is a challenge to achieving the MDG targets

and promotion of environment sustainability.

Less than 1 percent use electricity as the main

source of energy for cooking.
