Machine launches feature at
Powerscreen open day
Powerscreen, one of the world’s leading providers of mobile crush
ing and screening equipment, hosted an open day in Johannesburg
recently, in conjunction with local distributor ELB Equipment. The
event was held at the ELB premises and attracted over 200 customers.
The open day showcased 14 Powerscreen machines and included
the official African launch of the Powerscreen® Warrior™ 600 screen
and Powerscreen® Trakpactor™ 260 impact crusher. Customers had
the opportunity to watch live demonstrations of the newly launched
machines and were provided with an overview of all Powerscreen
equipment.
There were two types of material used in the demonstrations on
the open day to show the versatility of the machines – a quartzite
dump rock and a decomposed sandstone. For the demonstration
with the quartzite dump rock, the feed material to the Trakpactor
260 was 0 to 300 mm which was then fed to the Warrior 600 screen.
The Trakpactor 260 was configured with 60 mm on the top apron and
30 mm on the bottom.
The material for the second demonstration was the decomposed
sandstone. The feed material was 0 to 100 mm; however, the settings
on the Trakpactor 260 were changed to 40 mm for the top apron and
20 mm for the bottom to produce a smaller sized final product.
TheWarrior 600 is the most recent addition to theWarrior™ mobile
screening product family. It is so compact that it can be transported in
a shipping container. The machine is said to be highly versatile and the
conversion from 3-Way Split mode to 2-Way Split mode can be com
pleted in minutes. It also features a highly aggressive 8’ x 4’ screenbox
capable of 6 g of acceleration. The Warrior 600 has been specifically
designed for operators for whom versatility, manoeuvrability and
transportation are of key importance.
The Powerscreen Trakpactor 260 horizontal shaft impactor, is a
highly compact tracked crusher designed to offer both excellent
reduction and high consistency of product yield – up to 250 t/h. The
unit is designed mainly for the recycling and demolition markets and
is said to be an ideal contractor machine due to its compact design
and mobility.
