4.2.5.
Principal Use-Specific Standards
A.
General
Standards for a specific principal use shall apply to the particular individual principal use regardless of
the zoning district in which it is located or the review procedure by which it is approved, unless otherwise
specified in this Ordinance. This section sets forth and consolidates the standards for all principal uses
for which a reference to this section is provided in the “Use-Specific Standards” column of the principal
use table in Section
4.2.4.C, Principal Use Table,and in the same order as they are listed in the table.
These standards may be modified by other applicable standards or requirements in this Ordinance.
B.
Standards for Specific Agricultural and Animal Related Uses
Agricultural Uses
a.
Community Garden
(1)
Overhead lighting is prohibited.
(2)
Accessory buildings shall be limited to sheds for the storage of tools, greenhouses, and
seasonal farm stands. The combined area of all buildings and other structures shall not
exceed 15 percent of the area of the parcel.
(3)
Areas used for communal composting shall be limited to ten percent of the area of the
parcel.
(4)
Perimeter fences, including trellises, are allowed in community gardens, subject to the
standards i
n Section 5.14, Fences and Walls.(5)
The community garden shall have an established set of operating rules addressing the
governance structure of the garden, hours of operation, assignment of garden plots, and
maintenance and security requirements and responsibilities.
