Winery Overview
With a history dating back to the 9th century, the Castello di Bossi estate has evolved with the times. A dynamic
team leads the estate and never shies from technological innovation, while remaining true to the
terroir
of
Chianti. This balance has been a key part of Marco Bacci’s vision, as he has brought Castello di Bossi to the
highest ranks of international wines. As the mastermind of Castello di Bossi, he oversees all operations, from
beginning to end with careful attention to detail. Over the last 10 years, Marco has added two properties to his
holdings: Renieri in Montalcino and Terre di Talamo in the Morellino di Scansano appellation.
Location of Vineyard
The Castello di Bossi estate is located in the town of Castelnuovo Berardenga, the southernmost appellation of
Chianti Classico, amid evergreen woods and long rows of vines.
Winemaking Philosophy
Along with his brother, Maurizio, Marco owns one of the best collections of estates in Tuscany, and with the help of
wine consultant, Alberto Antonini, and agronomist, Federico Curtaz, they are creating high quality wines from some
of the top Tuscan appellations. Following in his father’s footsteps, Marco’s son, Jacopo Bacci, recently received his
doctorate in agriculture in Florence and joined the family business.

Winery Overview
Located in the Tuscany region, Fattoria Le Pupille, is a small estate owned by Elisabetta Geppetti. In the 1990s,
Fattoria Le Pupille established a presence in the international wine market. Critics have rewarded its quality and
consistency throughout its range of wines. Of particular note has been its Saffredi, which is found on the wine lists
of the world’s best restaurants.
Location of Vineyard
In the 1970s, Fattoria Le Pupille was a farmhouse near Pereta with just five acres of Sangiovese vines. Even on this
small tract of land a good red wine was being produced and bottled. In 1978, the Morellino di Scansano DOC was
created, and later that year marked the first harvest of the new DOC wine at Le Pupille. Eventually the space in
Pereta became too restrictive and Le Pupille moved to its current headquarters, where the estate now comprises
175 acres.
Winemaking Philosophy
As a young owner, Elisabetta Geppetti, decided to become personally responsible for her small vineyard with one
clear goal: to make great wines. The first harvests under the supervision of Giacomo Tachis began in 1982-83. The
first vintage of Fattoria Le Pupille Morellino di Scansano, under Elisabetta, was carried out in 1985. Winemaking is
now directed at the estate by consultant Luca d’Attona.
