Winery Overview
Quinta do Passadouro is located on the left bank of the Pinhão River in the Douro Valley. The estate is co-owned by the
Bohrmann family and Jorge Serôdio Borges, whose family has been in the Port wine business for years. As a testament
to his pedigree in the industry, Jorge also serves as director and head winemaker. Jorge’s early experience includes
working as an oenologist at Niepoort, under Dirk Niepoort. Now, in addition to owning Quinta do Passadouro he and
his wife, Sandra Tavares da Silva (also an oenologist), own Wine & Soul winery.
Location of Vineyard
This sprawling property in the heart of the Douro’s Cima Corgo consists of two different vineyards: Quinta do
Passadouro and Quinta do Sibio. Both vineyards boast a range of indigenous varieties native to the Douro, including
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinat Roriz, Sousão and Tinta Barroca.
Winemaking Philosophy
With roots in the famed Niepoort Port house, Passdouro makes notable Port in its own right. It also creates excellent
unfortified wine employing foot treading in granite lagars, which keeps bitter compounds from the grape skins from
entering the wine. Throughout the past few years, Jorge and his team have modernized the vineyards by installing
state-of-the-art equipment, all of which has taken the winery to the next level in quality and production.

Winery Overview
Located in the heart of the Douro Valley, Portugal’s best known wine region, Wine & Soul spans several picturesque
vineyards. This innovative yet rustic winery was founded nearly 10 years ago by Jorge Serôdio Borges and his
wife, Sandra Tavares da Silva, both of whom wished to channel their extensive experience into a winery that would
showcase the traditional varietals and
terroir
of the Douro Valley on an international level.
Location of Vineyard
Initially, Wine & Soul consisted of a lone vineyard, Pintas, located in the prime vine growing Douro subregion - Cima
Corgo. Throughout the years, they gradually expanded to include additional properties, such as the magnificent
Quinta da Manuela in the Pinhão Valley. Parcels of 80 year old vines are tucked into terraces carved out by dynamite
a century ago. Walls built from the displaced schist border the vines, preventing erosion and enhancing the
idyllic landscape.
Winemaking Philosophy
Wine & Soul has received considerable critical praise for its delightful, character driven wines, all of which
represent the exceptional
terroir
of the Douro region. Grapes are foot trodden in granite lagares and aged in
French barriques.
