Winery Overview
Proprietress, Silvia Imparato, indulged in wine as a hobby until she decided to rebuild her family’s vineyards in
Montevetrano, in the oft-underestimated Salerno zone in the southern part of Campania. She employed the skills
of highly regarded winemaker, Riccardo Cotarella, to create an outstanding icon wine they decided to name
Montevetrano, the historic name of Imparato’s grandparent’s villa.
Location of Vineyard
Montevetrano is a small zone in the hills near the commune of San Cipriano Picentino, not far from Salerno.
Mountains surround the property with the vineyards situated on gentle slopes facing south by southwest. The heart
of the estate is a beautiful, ancient villa. In the first years of production the basement of the villa also served as the
cellar, which is now used for private vintages with a modern cellar built in 2000.
Winemaking Philosophy
Between the end of September and the beginning of October, Montevetrano first harvests the Merlot grape,
then Cabernet Sauvignon and finally the Aglianico. Fermentation initially occurs in steel vats for approximately
15 days, followed by 10 - 12 months in new barrels. The process is traditional but also strictly controlled,
guaranteeing proper refinement and a balanced maturation. The process also ensures the grapes retain the
regional features typical of Montevetrano, while also producing a wine that is worthy of consideration among
the great red wines of Europe.

Founded in 1968, the Di Majo estate cultivates more than 200 acres under vine. In order to ensure consistent,
high quality production for all the estate’s wines, Alessio Di Majo hired renowned oenologist, Riccardo Cotarella,
as a consultant.
Location of Vineyard
The di Majo Norante vineyard is located on the estate of Marquis Norante, Santa Cristina, along the Adriatic Sea
between Puglia and Abruzzo. The estate has been dedicated to growing vines since the 1800s. In the 1960s, a
modern cantina was constructed and vines were replanted in the Ramitello area.
Winemaking Philosophy
Optimal exposure, constant breezes during the summer, excellent soil composition and a slope toward the
Sciabolone and Madonna Grande valleys combine to create a particularly favorable environment for the
production of wine here. In addition to producing quality wine at an outstanding value, the Di Majo family is
dedicated to practicing environmentally sound agriculture and releases a number of certified organic wines.
